Why Me?

My parents put a camera in my hands when I was seven. Mostly because we traveled a lot, and they didn't want to buy me and my siblings a bunch of souvenirs! "Take as many pictures as you want!" And so I did. Mount Rushmore, the Grand Canyon, my brother posing our dog Amos, like he was holding a BB gun, my friend and I wearing our matching fanny packs...and on and on. The Wal-Mart film developing employees and I were on a first name basis. When my kids came along, I found a renewed zeal in my photo taking. I simply couldn't believe how quickly they grew and how hazy those first weeks and months became. Now that my oldest is fourteen, and we added three more kids to the bunch, I've photographed so many stages of my own family and have grown to love capturing those moments and so many more with others! It truly is a joy to be able to craft a story of a family or a graduating senior, a new birth, or a wild bunch of three year olds! It never gets old.
